Hi,

I'm a new Solidworks user, but well versed with Creo.

Within SW2020 I am working on a new assembly on which I am wanting to try out the SW2020 Envelope Publisher for top-down design.

I have my basic envelope created. I have also published it to a subassembly so that I can reference the parts in that subassembly to the published envelope.

When I make a change to the envelope model, the change does not appear in the subassembly's published envelope.

I have tried using the rebuild command and the published envelope isn't following the top-level envelope.

What might I be doing wrong?

How best can I emulate Creo skeleton, top-down, publish geom, copy geom features in SW?

Thanks,
Glenn

freerangequark,

I have not used the envelope feature of SolidWorks.

You can create a part file, and place sketches in it, and attach the file to your primary assembly, and all the sub-assemblies in your system. The sketches can be 2D or 3D.
