what a mess, I tried to copy the link from the other post and then checked it was pointing to the wrong location so I pasted it directly in the post.

Yes. In NX 11 you will be able to sweep a Body along a guide....

I'd sure like to see that example be successful,

NX 9.0.3.4
NX 11.0.0.33 (Testing)
Windows 7 (Windows 8.1 Tablet)

I tried some stuff quickly it did not work for me. I had done some other designs that has worked. Interesting.

Thanks for trying and letting me know that NX11 is not ready for this as of today.

if you're looking to simulate an Endmill along the path of a Helix, it does simplify the methods we currently use (Sweep to a Sheet, and Thicken).

However, we find it's easier for an NC operation to use the Sheet body of the path, rather than the actual resulting solid topography. In that respect, we'll have to stay with our current methodology.

What would be nice is if this option allowed a "Create" option, rather then just Subtract and Intersect.

And obviously, it would be nice if you could simulate a Grinding wheel following the path of a Helix ... here's to NX12.

NX 11.0.0.33 (Testing)

I do like that.

NX 9.0.3.4
NX 11.0.0.33 (Testing)

Thanks for the .pdf, cnc07. It was getting difficult to locate one.

[green]To the Toolmaker, your nice little cartoon drawing of your glass looks cool, but your solid model sucks. Do you want me to fix it, or are you going to take all week to get it back to me so I can get some work done?[/green]
