I am using a switch which is rated at 10a 250VAC 1/2HP, 15A 125VAC 1/2HP UL reconized, CSA certified. The switch is used to turn on a DC motor with a 30A breaker in-line. The circuit is supplied with 24 vdc.
my questions....
What is the Max DC current this switch can take?
How can i take a rating like this and calculate the dc current i can use with this switch?

It depends on nature of load. Please, provide nameplate data of the motor, i.e.
HP or W, type/model, voltage, current, efficiency and manufacturer.

the circuit is running a vacuum motor and is power by 24VDC battery source. the motor is a 24VDC, three stage, single speed, tangental discharge bypass.

i am looking to find a possible second source on these switches, and most of the switch manufactures rate there switche in the same type format....so any sugestion you mave have in helping me in understanding these rating i would appreciate it

Please, provide the nameplate current and wattage or horsepower. These are essential parameters to size the switch.
