I have assembly and component drawings I need to change the dimensions from english to metric.
I searched and found this thread. thread554-141765
I think the statement about interpreting dimensions is wrong. I want it to convert 1" to 25.4mm
Is this correct?
Also what's the best way to keep a copy as is?

I also want to save a copy of these as they are for our shops use.
We are having these assemblies made in Europe, and they requested metric step files.
Pr-E's help is of no help... as usual.
Thanks for any input!

Do you want to just dimension the drawing in metric OR chnage the part model to metric?

The drawing is done with a drawing option, drawing_units mm.
To convert the model, do what was in the other thread:
If you've already started, go to Edit-->Setup-->Units and set the unit system to mmNs. Be careful, if you've modeled parts as inches where they should have been mm, have Pro/E Interpret the dimensions. Otherwise you will have a part that is 25.4 times larger than it should be!

I just wanted the dimensions in metric.
I've got it taken care of, and the vendor says everthing is great. Tolerances were a little messy, without opening every part up and spending many hours changing everything, they were able to work with it.
