Hi
I based in South Africa and our National Building regulations states the following for mechanical ventilation systems:
"The artificial ventilation system shall not be connected to any artificial lighting system for the purpose of on/off control."
I interpret this as "you cant switch a fan on/of on the same circuit as a light" (i.e. a small toilet wall fan connected to the toilet light switch) I don't agree 100% with this regulation and would like to know if ASHRAE has anything relating to this or if there is industry practice which is different to this regulation elsewhere.
