I am trying to get some information on drawing symbols, the receptacle symbol in engineering drawings. In the past it was common to see this symbol with the lines coming out of the circle and going away from the adjacent wall. Now it seems to be the opposite method with the lines going towards the wall. Is there a standard somewhere that dictates the proper orenation of the symbol? And if there is what is the standard and what is the proper orenation? Or is there something somewhere that says there is a reason for one method over another do to useage location etc...
I have been trying to get some type of answer that I can use to standardize the use of symbols in the company I am in as it seems half do it one way and the other half do it the other both sides saying their way is the proper method.
