Hi all. I hope you don't mind me asking yet another question here. I am very grateful for all the help I've received in the past.

Where is the default size of custom symbols set? In the image below, how do I change the default values for "Length" and "Height"?

NX 6.0.5.3

Thanks in advance.

There is no 'default' symbol size, at least not for 'User-Defined Symbols'. The dimensions that you're referencing are the original symbol size when it was defined. They change as you select different symbols as each symbol carries its own 'default sizes'. The default 'Length and Height' values simply defines what the original 'box' size is that that symbol will fit within. You can use either the 'Scale and Aspect Ratio' setting to change the relative 'Size' and 'Aspect Ratio' or the 'Length and Height' settings to do that by directly editing the actual 'parameters' of the symbol. But there is NO concept such as a general 'Default' size which can be preset.

Thanks for the reply. How then do I edit the findnumbers.sbf file in order to change the symbols inherent size?

To the best of my knowledge, this file has never been changed, but it seems each time I upgrade NX, the sizes of these symbols change as well. (Has happened the last two upgrades at least. 5.02 -> 6.03 -> 6.05)

I wouldn't mind manually tweaking the size each time if it would 'stick'. But as it is, I have to change the size each time I place a symbol. Also, if I want to put a find number and a flag note in the same note, I cant do it because it makes them both the same size (we normally want find numbers to be .5x.5 and flag notes to be .625x.25).

Several version ago this all worked seamlessly.
