When I try to use the symetric offset when doing a cutout I have issues selecting the lines I want to offset. When I go to select the line I want to offset a line in the middle of the screen apears and I can't select the line I want. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this very well but it's getting frustrating.

Hi,

are you sure that you are using 'Symmetric Offset'? The description makes
me think that you are trying to use the function 'Symmetric Relationship'
When this function is activated a previously defined 'Symmetry Axis' will
show up possible the projection of a plane which is displayed as line. The
line will get highlighted and carries a circle.

Offset will take a single element or a chain and offset this by
a certain amount.

sym. Offset will take only an element and will offset this by a certain
amount to both sides of that element and will treat both ends to
what has been defined by the user (specified on a pop-up window)
Typical use is to create a keyway

Set Symmetric Axis will define a symectric axis to be used later on

Symmetric Relationship will make two single elements symmetric in size
and distance to a previously defined symmetric axis

The icon for symmetric offset should show a red corner that
is surrounded by a thin black line

I am using the symetric offset. I'm trying to use it in the cutout comand to creat slots.
