Can I define in some way symmetry on discontinuous surface?
Here is the figure:

I want to define Y-symmetry, but it should reflect all assembly. So, can I define continuous symmetry on discontinuous surface? I want to have red color (symmetry) on the entire length.

rstupplebeen,
I defined symmetry on red lines, but the result is:

It can be seen, that the material between red lines has squeezed out. The symmetry condition does not affect that material.

With very large deformation like you have you will need to create a rigid plane. With contact defined you can more accurately simulate this.

Use of a rigid plane is a little unintuitive. The way I have described this is to have someone poke their 2 thumbs together and hold them for a bit. When you separate they should have roughly flattened thumb tips.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
