IEC60909-0 Section 3.6.1 gives 'fictitious' values for stator resistance eg. Rgf = 0.07 * x"d sat to use when calculating the peak short-circuit current 1/2 cycle after fault inception. ie. ip = sqrt(2)*I"k ( 1.02 + 0.98 e^-3Rgf/x"d sat ).
The same Standard states that this Rgf / x"d sat ratio should not be used to calculate the d.c. component of current which the breaker must interrupt. iDC = sqrt(2)*I"k e^(-2*pi*f*t*R/X ).
Can anyone give typical values of Rg to calculate iDC for the following 2 pole, 13.8kV, 50Hz turbo generators :-
- 16.5 MW, x"d sat = 14.50%
- 30.0 MW, x"d sat = 18.76%
- 38.4 MW, x"d sat = 15.00%
