Looking for a affordable, low cost system to build a monitoring system for private or smaller boats, yachts, sizes from 40 ft up to 80 ft
12V/24V DC system
Want to control following (examples): (List is endless)

-Level of Fresh Water Tank
-Level Of Waste Tank
-Level Of Fuel Tank
-Bilge Water Level
-Fire / Smoke Sensors ALARM
-Fuel Shut Down Valve EMERGENCY
-Motion Sensors THEFT protection / buzzer / sms message to owner
-WebCam monitoring / message to owner
-other alarms / message to owner

All of these sensors should be connected together in same system and must be accessible / notified on wireless signals transmitted to: / smartphones / tablets / internet etc

Anyone aware of such systems available today, without spending several thousands to just get started? I know larger yachts already have their own intelligent systems with remote access using phone simcards etc, but for smaller, private boats.
I am looking for a simpler, still intelligent and affordable system to implement in a 40 ft motoryacht project
Any hint / suggestion appreciated

Other than the webcam, a small PLC with appropriate I/O and application code would fit the bill for low volumes. For larger scale production a dedicated microprocessor systems would likely become cost-effective.

Did you mean 'control' or 'monitor' - you used both words, and they have signifcantly different meanings.

Thanks Scotty,
Sorry for confusing,
I mean to control (example: start a pump remotely) as well as watch the boat at the marina on demand from a smartphone, when needed (if a alarm happens)
Also to control lights onboard would be handy, from anywhere using smartphone. So it would be both a controlling as well as monitoring system.

You can get the basic sensors, and controls for most of the mentioned systems, in an RV store.
... but they are, frankly, crap, built for a cost-sensitive industry, and barely capable of making it through a short warranty period in an environment that is benign, relative to that found on any boat.

If it's _your_ boat, you are free to make the choice, and to live, or die, with it.

If it's someone else's boat, I don't know how you will live with yourself when the inevitable happens.

Some of the building automation control systems are both smart and inexpensive. Look into Novar, Delta, Alerton, Automated Logic. The big guys in that field (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider) may also have offerings that would fit. Remote notification is kind of standard in that industry, and all should work on 24 VDC.

Best to you,

Hi, we can do it together
Although we don't have all components for your project
But they can be added later.

1. We are manufacturer of fuel flowmeters and fuel level sensors.
2. We can do water level sensor based on fuel level sensor modification
3. We have own GPS/GSM AVL tracker that can connect data from sensor, record and transmit via GSM
4. We can connect 3rd party alarm sensors (smoke, etc)
5. We can connect to our GPS tracker some Android devices (miniPC), that can use Webcam and we can link it with some events from connected sensors.
6. We can provide AVL WEB server to show it

We are young company and need more positive feedback than your money.

I think it is enough to make some talks :)
Send you contacts to export6(at)mechatronics.by if interested, please.

Thank you guys,
I'll talk to the owner and see what he is willing to do now
