Hoping to get some help with this modeling issue,
Background:
In a previous company I was using StormNet by Boss Int for hydrology and hydraulics modeling. (I also have experience with other software) This was a few years back. I started with a new company just over a year ago and recently they acquire civil 3D (C3D) licenses which comes with the Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Sewer Analysis program. Basically as I recall, Autodesk purchases StormNet and is now part of the C3D package. Long story short, I used the other program before and well they are the same so I'm pretty acquainted with interface.
Modeling Issue:
I'm trying to model a 12 ft tall x 24 ft diameter storage tank that will be collecting rainwater. Water will build up and will be pumped out for other uses on site. When the rainstorm exceeds the demand of the uses onsite, water will go out one of two ways. The first overflow will be sent via a 10 inch diameter pipe to a bio retention area. If more water exceeds the capacity of the 10 inch pipe there is a secondary outlet via a higher overflow, 12" diameter pipe that connects directly to the underground storm drain system.
Basically I'm having a bit of trouble modeling the storage tank with the two orifices and how flow will need to be diverted to the 2nd overflow should the 2nd overflow elevation is reached. Any advice on the set up scenario?
The best way would be to model the demand from the site uses included but to simplify I have assumed the tank is full to the 1st overflow elevation and it begins to rain to begin directing water down the 1st overflow. However that has not worked either. Any advice will be appreciated.
