What are some good short courses in the T&D areas? I know EUCI advertises some, but don't know if they are any good. Does anyone have some good short courses to mention?

It would help if you specify your geographical location. This is an international site and there are courses all over the world.

Sorry I forgot about the broader interests of the group. I'm in North America. Course interest is in T&D, distribution planning and reliability. Looking for practical short courses by experienced people.

I'm a little familiar with the Univ. of Wisconsin courses, but the list doesn't say who is teaching the particular courses. I find that too many universities offer courses that the instructors only learned about from books and really offer little practical relevence. While the theoretical background is very helpful, I don't want to get immersed in a theory-only type of short course.

Also I'm particularly interested in distribution planning and reliability courses. Any hints on those would be helpful too.

Also if you suggest a link, can you include whether you've taken the actual short course or not? Thanks.

Thanks, luis. I had forgotten about PTI, which I guess is now Siemens. They generally publish outlines for the courses, but don't give any info on who is teaching them. Nonetheless, I'll check them out.

Has anyone attended any of the courses that were mentioned (i.e., PTI and S&C)? I'd like to see if there's any that are highly recommended.

Yes, T&D is transmission and distribution.

How about some more details on what you are looking for. T&D is a pretty broad topic and means different things to different people.

Again, from the 3rd or 4th thread, I'm interested in reliability and distribution planning topics. Capacitor application, voltage regulation, system design, higher voltage distribution, engineering economics are the planning related topics.
