So I now know how to drive parts using excel tables.
Where can I find out some good info on how to drive assemblies with a table of parts.

Thanks

Crap I always forget....

Thanks

As far as I can tell, it's almost the same as with parts: "Insert --> Design Table"

I tried it on one of my assemblies that has multiple configurations. Using auto-create, it automatically added all components, mates, and dimensions with configuration-specific states.

In the help file. It show you how the proper text for filling out tyour DT in assemblies.

click on the Index tab once in the help and type in "design tables" and click on components. Then you will get 3 options. Just pick on the appropriate one that fits your needs to understand how to type the text string in.

When in doubt, always check the help

Yes, you do it the same way as with parts, the mates and components are just features of the assembly like extrudes, revolves, etc... are to parts...

(with the design table open...)
You can double click the Parts to add the Supress State to the design table (DT)...

Double click mates and then double click their dimensions to control them with the DT...

When you double click any feature, it will add the supress state for that feature to the DT... if you don't want to control their state w/ the DT, simply Delete the column...

Tip: Use Distance mates with value of zero (0) instead of Coincident... that way you can control the distance as well as the coincident... instead of having 2 mates with one supressed...
