Tangent lines showing up in cable routing

I am fairly new to the routing module in SolidWorks. I'm noticing that tangent lines randomly appear on cabling routed along a spline, usually where the spline points are, but sometimes the cables appear smooth. What is the rule that determines whether tangent lines show up? I'd prefer to have smooth cables if possible.
