Helping to Design excavation support wall for commercial basement excavation in USA that will also support some decking for construction equipment and utility supports. Does anyone know of good reference material out there with regards to calculating the vertical capacity of tangent piles or slurry panel walls? The foundation material is stiff to hard clay with inter-bedded medium dense sand lenses. I've tried to tie a methodology to FHWA but can't seem to find anything other than design of drilled shafts with group effects.

I have used skin friction on the portion of secant piers in contact with the soil as well as a reduced end bearing as provided by the Geotech. These were permanent secant walls supporting the perimeter of the building above as well as portions of the below grade parking levels.
