Does anyone know the equation to calculate the area of an square orifice? The model is a closed pressurized square tank with a square orifice, and the fluid is steam. I need to control the pressure in the tank by determining the square orifice area.

why would anyone make a square orifice? Just curious?

First, Good news. I found the information in Perry's.

But I am working on a secret project, and the model is analogous to chemical engineers as a square tank with a square orifice. Same paradigm, but my model could have confused everyone.

I find that posting a question takes a few days for response, so I post first and then research. Typically, I solve the problem however the posts to my questions provide new references and directions from my current one.
