Tapped Holes in Valve Body instead of Flanges

A Vendor is supplying Tapped Holes in the body instead of flanges and Tapped holes are threaded to fit Bolts instead of Studs.
Is this acceptable?
If this is acceptable,
if Yes
1) what should be the length of thread / insertion length of bolt
2) Bolt diameter and number of bolts is identical to ASME B16.5 studs?

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

The manufacturer should provide the required size and length of the studs for the bolting. To mount the valve to the piping flanges, B16.5 standards should be followed for the number and size of the tapped holes.

Just to state the blindingly obvious.........make sure that you will be able to fully insert/remove the stud from the flange side.

If a valve is built or ordered under condition to be in accordance with one or several standards, it is up to the supplier to prove that every constructional or test requirement is fulfilled and if necessary certified.

If body end form is equal to required flange form and proven strong enough, and bolt and stud lengths and dimensions (and material) are conforming to allowed data, lengths are more a practical mounting/demounting question.

For some valvetypes, dimensions and pressure classes,it is quite common to have integrated flanges, for others unusual.
