Taylor Welded Blanks for automotive, how good?

I came across an issue regarding using TWB for automobile construction. The problem is i have no info at all regarding this matter. What i really would like to know is how much extra investment will be needed as compared to conventional method and how does TWB improve car crash-impact performance?
