Hi all,

We're starting to integrate Teamcenter at our company. Our Primary CAD package is SolidWorks, but we also use UG NX6 quite a bit. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to get all the fasteners into Teamcenter.

The only option I see is to manually load every possible fastener size and length one at a time. Very labor tedious !

I wonder if someone has written a macro or there is software to purchase that would somewhat automate this process.

I'm interested in what solutions other companies have done in this area.

thanks for any input!

Wade

I can't speak for Soildworks, but for NX you can download fastener libraries from the Siemens PLM GTAC support site which can be loaded into Teamcenter. These are 'Part Family' templates which means that each file only contains a generic occurrence of a parametric part from which any family member part can be created on demand. Once created, they will be added to both your assembly and Teamcenter. Therefore you only end up having to manage those fasteners which you have actually used and NOT every possible occurrence.
