Any current or former users of TEDDS, could you comment on using this software in comparison with Excel with or without plugins?

I have used TEDDS. There are some things it does well and some it does not so well. In particular it is not good at itterative solutions whereas in Excel you can often use Goal Seek to itterate to a solution very quickly. TEDDS has pecularities and traps for the unwary, just as Excel does. While you probably have "free" access to Excel (or open office, TEDDS is expensive.
