People,

am running Nx4.0.4.2
when calling up Models do any Temp files get created, am guessing they do.
? - and so where are they located
? - and secondly how can i change their location
the reason for this is that I have a solid state 'fast' drive in my M6400 in addition to my regular drive and i am interested, if pointing the temp file to this solid state whether my models speed up ... i use a lot of UDFs and currently there is some painful latency when manipulating the model ....

whatever you can suggest

Okay well the answer is in several parts.

You can edit ugii_env.dat in your install directory i.e. C:\programs\<path>\UGII. There are settings commented with instructions as to where the temporary modelling files are located.

You could just want to change the way the system is using swap space by allocating more virtual memory preferably to the solid state device. Which depending on what system you're using you may need to ask more about that I can reel off the top of my head.

Thirdly manipulation latency is as often as not graphics related. In which case it is just as likely none of the above may help.

I hope this at least helps point you in directions that focus your efforts somewhat.

Best Regards
