I have a very simple question: Can I do a temperature analysis with a SHELL99 element (layered composite element)? I have an 8-layers, rectangle shape, composite part and I'd like to apply a constant temp. on a line into the part, and then apply a convection boundary condition on the surface, in order to view the temp. distribution in 3D into the part. I don't know if I can do it with the SHELL99 element and I didn't find any help on the web... If someone could help me that would be kind!

This element doesn't have the correct DOF for your thermal analysis (it only has displacment DOF - check the help file notes). If you need a layered shell for thermal analysis consider either shell131 or shell132 depending on your needs.
