Temperature gradient

Hi experts,
I am new to AASHTO LRFD. In clause 3.12.3. Temperature Gradient, Figure 3.12.3-1, I can't determine the temperature in the steel girder (the vertical dashed line) because the dimension A is not specified for a steel girder composited with a concrete slab (for concrete superstructures only). What do you think about that?
