Tension in ground anchor

Hi,

I need to calculate increase in tension in free lenght of ground anchor due to settlements. I am working on quay wall project. Wall is supported by ground anchors. With relation to the working condition of quay wall I expect some settlements behing quay wall. This settlements cause increase in tension I am looking for.

This is not a "simple loaded cable with inclined chord" problem. I ve got inicial tension, cable under working loads. Cable is in ground..loading is not uniform.

If the wall was designed for ko conditions (i.e., no significant wall movement), then you shouldn't get any settlements related to wall movements.

The existing anchor loads should tend to restrict/resist settlements due to other sources. I would look at what additional anchor load is required to resist the settlements to determine if your anchors will have sufficient capacity. Also, is it possible for the wall to move in such a way as to releive the additional loads to some degree? This is a complicated system, and I believe that you will need to look at all the components.
