Terrain Factor???

I cannot find definition of terrain factor. I have to use it for point to point microwave link planning. Help me please, if tou have such info.

Hi Vilko

Depending on the model you're using to calculate the losses, the terrain factor is a number which should include the geoclimatic and particular terrain factors that will affect the propagation. It's usually significant in long haul links.
If you can get a hold on the ITU recommendation P.530-7/8 there is a good explanation there.
Also a simpler explanation is at: but is closer to Vigant-Barnett model, which I find not very accurate.
