Hi All,
We need to make a small 16 gallon tank to act as a intermediate tank between day tank and filling machine.
The tank needs to be designed for 14.5 psi internal pressure and full vacuum.
MOC is AL6XN and tank will be designed as per ASME code but it will not be stamped.
I want to know for this tank what tests are required. Do we need to have radiography and ultrasound test. Or dye penetrant test and hydro test will be sufficient as per code.

Let me know if any other information is needed.

Thanks

Are you in the business to manufacture unfired pressure vessels? if not, I suggest that you contact a tank manufacturing company and have one made to your specifications; it would be a lot safer and less headaches.

I think UNF states that this material will require dye checking but you will need to specify to the vessel fabricator the extent of testing you require, i.e. hydro, dye checking, x-ray. Especially if it is fabricated in accordance with the code but not stamped. That statement really gives a lot of leeway since the AIA does not have any involvement and you are relying on good engineering practice.
