Hi friends, I need to test some composite pressure vessels at a testing lab. They just bought a new strain gage module. And no one knows how to work with it. These are the strain gauges they have:
1. OMEGA: SG-3/120-RY13
2. OMEGA: KFG-3-120-C1-11L3M3R.
(Are they the same?)
They are the quater bridge strain gauges.
The module of the strain gauge is: SCC-SG01, 2-Channel, 120 OHM Quarter Bridge.
Their labview is 8.0 edition.

I have a lot of questions that I must answer before actually going to do the test.
1) How to connect the module to the system and set up the data acquisition?
2) How to calibrate the strain gage?
3) How to prepare the composite surface for attachment to the strain gage?
4) Where to put the strain gages in consider that the strains fluctuate even within small arc length on the dome?
5) How many strain gages to be used?

I know there are a lot of experts here. So please give me some advice on any of my questions. Thank you!

Not being short, I would strongly recommend that you convince your management to allow you to attend a training session put on by Omega, if they still have them, or have an in house training session put on buy Omega or a consultant.
In the mean time get a book/books on strain gauge measurement and do a lot of study.
