I work for a utility in Canada. We have a split phase protection provided on a large AC generator. This protection has a current transformer with Shell type core. Please see the attached diagram for details.
I wanted to perform a saturation test on this Current Transformer (CT). I know the method used for conventional CTs and I am planning on using the same method.
My questions are...
Should I keep the Auxiliary Coils open circuited or short circuited? Does it matter?
Will the grounds on the Core and the Auxiliary Coils affect my test? Should I leave them as they are or disconnect them?
