Hi,

I would like to know how can we set up font colors for Pro/E Drawings.

I am facing a problem with my existing drawing file (*.dtl). I need default Yellow color on all text but Pro/E is set to Blue color. I tried changing Text Color properties by right clicking without much success. Neither are there any properties listed under config.pro or the *.dtl file being used. The text Shows as having yellow colour in the properties.

I am using Pro/E 2001.

Any help regarding this matter?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I tried this option too (Set it to default) and there the font color type is indicated to be yellow. But even after regen, the fonts in the drawing remain blue.

Is there a way to post images along with questions so that it would be more convenient?

Thanks again
Jay

Jay,

Do the following test:

Select a dimension, then right click and select Proerties. Go to the TEXT STYLE Tab and see the color asigned for this dimensuion. If it's blue, than change it to yellow.

Hi Hora,
Thanks again for the quick response :=).
I am kicking myself for not checking out the forum before. I could have saved several hours of trial and error and browsing through 'not-so-friendly' pro/e help system!!

I already checked for the text style properties and it shows yellow. I have added a screen shot of the same in the following link for reference.

As you can see, the dimensions are blue and when I export them to ACAD to send out for some people, it makes it very hard to read. The ACAD does some funny things to these dimensions (changes them to begin with) when I try to change font colours there.

Actually, the *Dtl file was not native to my project and I was using it from someone else in Hungary. I am unable to contact them regarding this.

Thanks again! :=)

Jay,

As far as I know you cannot control the color of the font in a DTL file. You do it in config.pro or in VIEW menu bar as Steve said above.

If you create a new dimension is still shown in color blue? I saw that all the arrows are yellow and only the text is blue.

This drawing was created in Pro/E or it was imported from AutoCAD?

-Hora.

Hi again Hora,

The new dimensions being created are also in Blue. The drawing was created in Pro/E. I still think this is an issue with setting of the Dtl file since When I use a different dtl file, the text colour returns to Default yellow and everything is OK.

Is it possible that a parameter is defined that controls the colour of text? I am not conversant with using parameters driving drawing settings.

Thanks,
Jaya

Jay,

Save the dtl file and send it to me at hirimia@hotmail.com.

There is no system parameter to control the color font.

-Hora

Thanks Hora,
I will send the file to your mail ID.

My Best regards,
Jay

jaykm,
Is your *.dtl dimension style set to ISO?
I believe with the ISO setting checked, you get yellow leaders with blue text.

JW

Hora: Could you use this dtl file to check?

Sorry for the rather longish post and Thanks all for the patience!!
Jay

Hi JW and 3dLogix!!

Changing the Line style standard to ANSI Solved all the problems. Thanks a ton for the interaction. It made me a little wiser. :=)

Have a good weekend all!
Jay
