Text numbering on a solid body face

We are currently using the TEXT function in NX to create text on the face of a solid body. The text is used to number a series of holes which later gets engraved into the part for assembly purposes. I would like to have a way to automate this using a .VB journal. Does anyone have any examples of a journal where you can add text to a face just by clicking a bunch of locations one after another and have the number value increment each time you pick a new location.

Probably the closest that I have on hand is this journal:

It adds ID numbers to selected drafting dimensions or notes; the ID number increments after each pick.
