Hello all,
I'm having a strange problem here.
I have a label where the text is a cutout created with the text profile command.
The part updates OK but the draft file of the assembly where its positioned will not show the new next - it still shows the old text.
Any ideas?
I've been backwards and forwards in/out of the assembly and part, updated etc etc.

Have you checked out 'draw in view' to make sure someone didn't do something odd?

No it wasn't drawn in view but I have it sorted.
I opened the assembly from the draft, then edit in place on the part.
Change the text to something else.
Save and close the part.
Save the assembly.
Update the drawing.
Repeat the process, putting in the correct text.
Why???

Sounds like the funny things that happen with inserted word files etc.

I've tried to recreate the problem (V20/SP15) no success.
Following your steps -- the text updates immediately when
back in draft

Hi Don,
This was using ST1.
I suspect there is something weird with the system set-up at this place.
I seem to have problems here, such as things not updating, that I never have anywhere else.

tested it with ST1/Mp5 -- nothing it does work as it should
In MP4 a PR is listed that seems to point in that direction:

PR 1628650: Updating drawing views does not update the model display

Are you sure the view hasn't been dropped and is still associative? If you create a new view using the update part, does the correct text show?

bmlkidd,
No the view was not dropped.
Yes - if I dropped in a new view of the part itself the correct text was shown.
I got it sorted anyway.
I think it was just a matter of making sure the model files had been opened, updated and saved.
