When using the plotstyle, the text on the paper comes out much too thick that is not readable. All other lines are good. If I use the default acad plot style the text is good, and other lines are somwhat thinner but ok. How can I just reduce the line thickness of the text on plotting.
thanks,

Hi,

which ACAD-version, which font?
z-axis = 0?

plotting line weights in autocad is generally controlled at the layer level. Color or line weights are set for each layer. Put your text all in one layer and set that layer to the proper color or line weight.

If you are using the older plot styles that depend on color to set how wide a line plots, you need to put the text in the color that you want. There is a table in the plot styles that tells what width the lines will plot. Each company usually has their own standards for line weight.

I am using AC-2004 full version. The thick text happens on all fonts. They are in color Yellow. May be I should turn the Yellow to 0 mm. thickness?

Hi,

on all fonts? Which?
Do you work with *.ctb, or *.stb?

You have two possible alternatives.
Shx font, or TT font. That is different.
Only the line weight of shx fonts can be changed by the *.ctb.
The TT-fonts not! You can only change this textstyle with "'_style"

Upload a file with a text and the plotstyle file.

I am using the .ctb plot style. How can I tell if a text font is TT or shx type?
thanks,

_style -> fontname -> browse to fontname without "TT" like simplex.shx, or Romans.shx. Arial is a TT font.

Lothar

PS: You can search in the arial.shx.
