Hello you all.
My purpose is to model a rolling process (similar to the one in the examples manual) and i don't know if i am understanding very well the general philosophy of the ALE approach.
I have previously defined a temperature field by means of nodes and i want the material to flow through the model (through eulerian surfaces) while some loads and contacts are applied on the sliding sides. This way i want to obtain the stress history of material particles that cross all the model.
I have a doubt. The manual defines this ALE method as a Lagrangian domain with some eulerian boundaries throgh where material flows in and out. So ¿is the adaptive mesh what makes the material flow "independent" of the inside mesh?, i mean, ¿in each step the inside mesh moves with the material and, after that, it is relocated (remeshed)?
In a simple bidimensional example i am running i have a problem (is it possible?) with the sliding sides, that seem to move with the material tangentially and i can't uncouple that movement by means of ADAPTIVE MESH CONSTRAINS, something that shouldn't be neccesary, because it says that those nodes are non-adaptive.
I would greatly thank any help.
Regards.
