The differece between Pulp & Paper

So what do you think is the most significant difference between pulp and paper?

Pulp is what you make paper out of. Paper was pulp before it became paper by being calendered and dried over rollers. The most significant difference is the step(s) in between the two states. It involves lots of machinery and process.
