The kW - kVA relationship?

My question is asked in the subject title. What is the relationship between kW and kVA?

Actual Power in kW = Apparent Power in kVA x cos(angle between Actual Power and Apparent Power)
 
If you understand vectors and trigonometry it is easy to visualize the relation thus:
-KW is the X-Axis component of the KVA vector.
-The Y-Axis component is called RKVA.
-The vectorial summation (resultant) of KW and RKVA is the KVA vector
-The triangle formed by KVA/rKVA/kW is called the Power Triangle
