I'm performing a thermal analysis for a structure that consists of solid, shell and bar elements. I want to get the temperature distribution through all the elements to utilize that as load for a structural analysis. I'm using elements Solid 70, shell 131, and link 33 for the thermal analysis. Some of shell 131 elements consist of 1 layer, others consist of 2 layers, while the remaining consist of 3 layers. I know the temperature at some locations within the solid and shell elements. I apply thermal temperature on solid 70 nodes by using DOF (Temp), while I apply the thermal loads to shell 131 nodes using DOFs (Tbot, Ttop, etc ) based on the locations at which I know the temperature.
My problem that these DOFs are different and don't be added to each other. So how can I define the temperature at different locations using different DOFs and make them interact with each other?
