Does anyone have any experience of the effects of thermal contraction/expansion on plated through holes in PCB (PWB) assemblies.
I appreciate that whilst expansion due to excess heat or shock caused by rapid heating can cause fractures in the copper barrel of a circuit board, it is unclear if there are any complications caused by the sort of sub-zero temperatures that can be endured by assemblies used in aviation (or even in the hold of an aircraft on long haul flights).
I would be extremely grateful for an answer on this one, from anyone with relevant experience.
