Can anyone advice what subjects I need to take in IMechE / or its collaboration , to allow me to perform the following duties ?
I do not want to take a full masters course, as there are many irrelevant subjects I am not interested in.
I would be lucky if I get the job, but if not, at least I can have some level of technical understanding.

Do you have any experience in any of the listed technical areas, either in classes or on the job?
What is your undergraduate degree in? And what relevant courses have you taken?
Presumably you will need thermo, heat transfer, fluids, turbo machinery courses.

Graduate level computational fluid dynamics, and graduate level combustion analysis. I had both of these when I got my masters. I would have at least made an interview for that job out of grad school. Turbine blade design, shock waves, surging. It was fun, but structures held more appeal to me.

Side note: anyone go to Penn State grad school back in the 80's and have a computational FD professor whose mid term was the Volcanic Eruption Problem?
