Thick surface with top and bottom face flat 1

The thickness direction in Thick Surface command is normal to surface. How can I have a solid from a surface with flat ends? (In shell command in Part Design WB the ends of a solid are flat but how to achieve the same result from a surface?)

Add a top and bottom plane, and then split the Thick Surface with the planes.
