Things keep getting better - I think I broke my nx6

I started getting this message after I tried to set up the standards we used in nx3 under File>Utilities>Customer Defaults

There are no drafting standard defaults files
existing in the current drafting standard directory.
Please make sure the environment variable
UGII_DRAFTING_STANDARD_DIR is set correctly set.

I don’t know how to fix this, but it makes it so none of the settings I make ‘stick’ and I don’t have ‘Drafting’ listed under Preferences

I’ve done everything short of reinstalling nx6 I can think of. I even created a system environment variable pointing to the *.dpv file I saved in the UGII directory and nothing.

Did I screw things up enough that only reinstall of nx6 will work?

Oh and now when I try and load new I get ‘unable to load preferences values file’. This can’t be good.

thanks

Sorry everyone, I did a repair installation and things seem to be working correctly again.

sorry for the thread

You are restarting NX after making changes to Customer Defaults aren't you? If not, then NX will not recognize those changes until you restart NX.

You probably have an evironment variable set incorrectly. Try checking to see what level your Customer Defaults are set at (USER, SITE, etc.). Make that the same as your NX3 setting.

I don't have NX in front of me, but under the Customer Defaults there is a tab that you pick that allows you to set the Drafting Standard. Once you set it, then you're allowed to access all the Drafting settings.
