I would like to get forum members' thoughts on a starter/alternator for a HT application that is placed on the PTO of an automatic transmission. Can anyone foresee any problems with trying to start the engine through the torque converter?

My Googling turned up only one obviously applicable hit, but is seems a bit bigger than I am thinking about.

Thanks in advance.

During starter application, can the converter be locked by a dog clutch or similar in the hub.
