Hi,

How do we represent the threads cut on a bolt or a nut in V5?
We can cut threads on holes using Hole option, but we can not visualise the same on the 3D model. How do we visualise the threads...?
And even how do we cut threads on Bolts without using boolean operations..?

TIA,
Gururaj.

Hi Gururaj,

You can only visualise threads and taps in Part Design using the Thread/Tap icon in the Analysis Toolbar. When you hit this icon you'll see all threads highlighted with dimension.
You create threads and taps either when creating a hole or after, using the thread/tap icon in the Dress-Up Features toolbar.
Dassault has taken the choice of not showing threads and taps since this would increase the geometrical size (I'm guessing freely) in the model, only when creating drawings (you have to set the option in the view properties). Unfortunately, they haven't fixed it on assemblies or keeping the threads highlighted.

Good luck
