thread1452-493044 One response indicated minor differences between the developed radial edges would not matter if the plates will be lapped. I have worked in drafting and engineering for a field tank manufacturer for years and we butt the radial seams. We fabricate roofs from 1/4" up thru 1/2". Lapping is not a reasonable option. Since seams are butt, accurate alignment is required. I did not find a response addressing how to compensate for the difference between the radius in the plan and the elevation view if using AutoCAD. I am hopeful someone can furnish calculations for the flat plate layout instead of using AutoCAD
