Hi, I looked into one sprinkler hydraulic flow calculation. And I see, the designer added 1.5gpm for hose stream allowance to the 2 most remote sprinkler's gpm in NFPA 13D designs. Is the designer doing it right? Where does he get 1.5 gpm? Is it in the code? If anybody can explain me that, I would be grateful.
Thanks.

Not right. There is not any hose requirement for 13D systems.

I have no idea where he got the 1.5 gpm. Non at all.

Yeah, 1.5 GPM is a bit strange. 13D requires 5 gpm be added to the calculation when a common water supply connection serves more than one dwelling unit and there is no provision to isolate the domestic system.
