thread693-46723 Help need on torsion bar spring calculation.
Hollow tube 2.255 OD x .065 Wall
Mat'l. Tube Steel Carbon
length 26 inches
Using a flat spring leaf for torque.
mat'l. carbon 1085-1095
Size 1.50 width
length 28.0
Thickness .125
Not sure how many spring leaf required.
Must support 200 lb door one side
162.0 opposite side
Have read and going through calculations in SAE
manual on Design & Manufacture of Torsion Bar Spring.
too many options to choose the correct formula.
1st time user. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
