Hello everybody,

Even though I have checked the ASME B16.11 i could not understand the pressure rating in bars for Class 3000 SA 105 threaded coupling.

Can you help me?

You may find tables for pressure and temperature for several classes of materials. but you still need tocalculate, 3000 is just a nominal name. B16 has metric tables too.

You have to insert the respective wall thickness, matching the Class rating you picked, into your Code of Construction.

Couplings need to be designed considering them as equivalent pipe size. (Refer UG-44)
3000 class threaded couplings are considered as equivalent to Schedule 160 pipe
6000 class are equivalent to Schedule XXS (See table 7 in B 16.11)
Material for stress values can be considered as coupling material (e.g. SA-105 and NOT SA-106)

Pipe tolerance + corrosion allowance + threading allowance must be considered (Refer 2.1.1 of B16.11)
