Threaded Endcap -Body Joint Strength Calculations 1

Does any know or point me to the calculation method for computing the joint strength of 2" NPT (SS-316 material) Male (valve endcap)x Female (valve body) threads? Also need to calculate the shear strength of the threads.

ASME B16.34 Would be a good start.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.
 
NPT threads are very similar to API line pipe threads. The attached file includes formulas for API threaded line pipe. API TR 5C3 section 9.4 should also give information on line pipe joint connection strength and might reference this attachment.
