Threaded holes on a cylindrical face?

Hello,
I am trying to make a threaded hole on a cylindrical face. I have made the hole using the hole feature. In order to do this I made a place that was tangent to the cylindrical face. I clicked on the plane and put the hole in.
Now I need to put the thread (symbolic or detailed, I dont care) callout in. When I select insert thread and then pick the hole, it brings up a small window asking for me to "select a start face". Well since this is a cylindrical surface there is no start face, and it will not let me select the plane I used to make the hole as a start face. Is there any way to add in this treaded feature without going in and creating a small face perpendicular to the hole to use as a start face?

Ok,
Nevermind, I closed UG and reopened everything and now it lets me pick the datum plane just fine.

Thanks for the post never mind that you answered you own question it inspired to to write that with the new hole feature you should be able to create any hole using a point and a vector, which breaks the paradigm of the old datum face being required for this type of feature creation. The best thing is that I haven't actually tried this yet it will have to wait for a while, but I'm keen to hear and share the results.
