I am looking for a threaded insert to press fit into plastic (specifically PVC and ABS) that has a thread-locking feature in it. These must be made from stainless steel. The product this is for will have screws inserted into the threaded inserts to adjust the height of another component (like a jackscrew), and after the height is established we do not want the screw to vibrate up or down. Due to the length of the adjustment screws, using a nylock on the screw is not an option. Screw sizes are 6-32 and 10-32.

Just perusing the forums... sorry for the late response.

If you've got a healthy boss size you could go for slotted inserts, and just force them into an undersized hole. Then when you thread in the screw, it will take an enormous amount of force to open up the insert. That force acts as a threadlock.

It's really tight. Tight enough to strip the black oxide right off the screw.
